Dr. Jas Chahal MD, FRCSC, MSc, MBA

Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine

Dr. Chahal is an orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon at the University of Toronto who specializes in shoulder, hip, and knee arthroscopy with a special focus on ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration and orthobiologics.   During his fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, he was a team physician for the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox. He was the head orthopaedic consultant for Toronto FC from 2013 to 2016 and is currently a consultant for Team Canada Basketball and the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.  

 

His published works involve research in clinical outcomes in sports medicine, as well as, translational work on the use of biologics and mesenchymal stem cells in treating orthopaedic conditions. 

 

Always looking to innovate in the healthcare space, Dr. Chahal also completed his MBA from the Rotman School of Business and the University of St. Gallen. His latest venture Therapia, is an on-demand home physiotherapy platform that is aimed at improving accessibility to physiotherapy services post surgery.
